Framing is where a remodel stops being cosmetic. Opening a floor plan, building an addition, converting unused space — each starts with structure: what carries load, what can move, and what has to be built to replace what's removed. We frame new partitions, remove walls with properly sized and supported beams, and build the skeletons of additions, always off the answer to the load question rather than an assumption about it.

Where a removal is structural, the beam gets engineered — sized on paper, supported down to the foundation, and inspected under permit. Temporary shoring holds the load while the transfer happens. That's not bureaucracy; it's the difference between an open floor plan and a sagging ridge line three years on.

What framing work includes

  • Load-bearing assessment and engineering coordination
  • Wall removal with engineered beam installation and shoring
  • New partition walls, closets and reconfigured layouts
  • Structural framing for room additions
  • Blocking and backing for cabinets, TVs and grab bars — the detail people forget until they need it

Common questions

How do I know if my wall is load-bearing?
You usually can't tell from the room — it depends on what's above it and how the roof or floor spans. We check the structure itself, in the attic and at the foundation, before giving an answer. Never trust a guess based on 'it's probably fine.'
Do wall removals need permits?
Structural removals do, everywhere in DFW, and the engineering and inspection that come with the permit protect you. Non-structural partition changes often don't — we'll tell you which yours is.
